Back Home

Not too long ago, Kevin and I moseyed back to my hometown to visit.

My nephew wowed us with his scooter skills.

MacDuff made it quite clear how much he hates his leash.

And we looked at my mom's four garden plots.

Of course, I had to stop and say hi to the ladies while we were there. I even made a couple of them let me hold them.

We picked delicious blackberries (that we are still finishing off).

And I got ridiculously excited about picking radishes.

So tell me: What does "going back home" include for you?

My Dream Garden

I borrowed this book and got inspired.

Did you know it takes asparagus three years to grow to harvest size?

I've been using my own basil this summer and it is so amazing!!!

These would be perfect to go in our lentil soup.

I oven roasted some fresh-from-the-garden broccoli last week. Incredible.

Cucumber sandwiches?

I'll admit, I don't know how to use fennel, but I see it on Food Network all the time.

There can never be enough garlic.

Then I wouldn't have to pay $1.50 a pop at the grocery store!
